Episode 8.5
My oh my...
All is quiet in the various hamlets and villages of the Land of Pause. But it is too quiet. It is the stillness before the storm. What are the evil ones planning now? What misdeeds do they have scheduled for Sir Sandman? Are they too busy with other matters?
For example, there are chiefs to replace and other lives to ruin. There is new construction to screw up and villagers to make unhappy. No rest for the very wicked women in the kingdom like Queen Kelley and Tommie the Jerk. There will be new faces to replace the wise ones who have left Pause. The young, bright scholars and tradesmen are happy to find careers elsewhere. The once mighty Land of Pause is but a joke - a mere shadow of its former glory. It was once a lighthouse, but is now an outhouse. There should be a revolving door on the headquarters of Pause. No one stays too long.
What will become of Pause?

Breaking News...
Wicked old Chief Dill of the Village of Ally has resigned. Hurrah!!! This self-serving witch ruined the life of Sir Sandman's cousin, Willie. She was just too full of herself. The title went to her head. Dill took credit for the championship archery contest. She told the team that they were playing for her. Their mistakes reflected badly on her. She was too young and too much ego for such a powerful position. She blew it. The subjects of Ally forced Dill to retire her position. Now if a similar fate could befall Chief Running Wolfe?????
But the grapevine says that Running Wolfe with be the new chief of Ally and Tommie the Jerk will be the new chief of the Village of Gun. So a "jerk" becomes a chief? The standards in the kingdom have certainly gone down. The callous disgard for skills and talents is sickening. The weak, brown nosers are raising to the TOP of the heap - heap of cow dung. Episode Eight
Higher earthly power?
The noble Sir Sandman has sought the assistance of the Federal Office of the Villages. This agency has power to help people like Sandman who have been wronged unjustly and with bias. Their investigations have topled kingdoms (and lowered real estate values).
What will Lady Scot Tissue do next? To continue her foolish assault on the innocent knight would appear to be retaliation. This is a no win - no win situation for Tissue, the Queen, and Tommie. If they continue on the road to nowhere, they will look like bigger fools than they are. But they are fools.
They backed the wrong horse in this race. Catering to the neurotic whims of the parents and their spoiled offspring has gone too far. They need to grow backbones and stand up for what is right not what is the easy way.
What happens next in this drama?

Episode 7 - the mother of all jerks
Yes, Sir Sandman has found another champion. A champion that is beyond the reach of the Board of Knights. This organization has found evils within the collective villages of Silly Alto. Yes, three claims of insensitive treatment of the "lesser" children (persecuted by bullies) has been investigated by this powerful group. These bullies have been allowed to terrorize their unfortunate peers without restrain from the the local Village elders. The elders turned a blind eye on the sufferings and misery of these poor children. They were too afraid that they might upset the parental units of the tormentors.
But who created these bullies? Bullies are not born. They are created by their environment such as their parents, the media. The bully like behavior of their parents imprints this behavior on their offspring. The powers that be in Silly Alto do little to nothing to curb this barbaric behavior. The authorities of Silly Alto fear the wrath of the bigger bullies - the parental units. The deep pockets of these residents strike fear into the hearts of of all who rule in Silly Alto. Deep pockets filled with gold and ruthlessness.

Episode 6
Sir Sandman grew tired of the unwarranted attacks from the mother of all jerks, Tommie. Queen Kelley has delegated the dirty deed to her right hand gal, Lady Scot Tissue. Lady Tissue loves to dish the dirt. She is not the smartest tool in the shed, but that doesn't seem to matter. Tissue follows orders and doesn't ask questions. She has been responsible for many an unfair deals with some other knights and common folk as well. Lady Tissue has no conscience and sleeps well at night. But has she met her match in Sir Sandman, the noble and honest knight?
Will good finally triumph over evil? Maybe. All is takes is good men to do nothing for evil to win. But, behold, one of the realistic 10%ers has come forth to speak well of Sir Sandman. This young woman, Sarah, has the power of truth in her message to Tommie and the others. She speaks truth to power. The message is clear - Sir Sandman is a good man and mentor. He has strong convictions and speaks in a no nonsense manner. Sarah knows that Sandman's words offend some of the other village young folk, but she is grateful for them. The lessons to be learned will help them to be successful in life -within or outside the Village of Gun. The others are blinded by their panic and shallowness. But Sarah ha a clear vision of things to come and the goodness of the noble knight.
Will Sarah's words fall on deaf ears? Will Lady Tissue and Queen Kelley understand and act upon her advice to back off Sir Sandman? Will their unjust persecution of the knight continue? Will they come to their senses and stop this madness?
Or...will the noble knight need to find yet another champion to take on his cause?

A higher earthly power?
Yes! Sir Knight will appeal to the Union of Knights for their support and help. Their reputation has been tarnished as of late. The people in charge have no sense of history. They have often been seduced my the perks which the Queen has offered them. They have a too friendly relationship with the "enemy" in hopes of gaining more perks from evil Queen Kelley. Most likely they will give lukewarm support and some advice. But they do have a rules advocate who could provide sound advice to the good Knight Sandman.
Where else is help available for Sir Sandman? His fellow knights? His loyal supporters in the Village of Gun? The honest young people of Gun - the 90%ers?

Episode 4: mother of all jerks
Last episode: Our good Knight Sandman looks to a higher power.
Just who could come to the aid of Sandman, a honest and noble Knight? What about the Board of Knights? Will the lies and half-truths of Tommie and the Queen stand up under the watchful eyes of the board members? Would good win out over evil? Would truth triumph over lies?
Is Sir Sandman to be banished from the Land of Gun? I fear not for his future. For he is a honest man with integrity. The Queen and Tommie are shameless wags. And we mustn't forget the Village chief, Running Wolf. His lack of leadership will not be forgotten nor forgiven by the Board of Knights and the decent villagers. They will be used by the neurotic parental units and their equally neurotic offspring, but not valued by them. They will serve these freaks but never have their respect. They are mere puppets of the mob. Puppets are used and then put back in their place. So to will the Queen, Tommie, and Running Wolf meet the same fate. No one holds puppets in high regard. They entertain but do not merit human status. This unholy trinity will never be consider "one of us" by the mob.
Where as Sir Sandman will be regarded in high esteem by the righteous folk here in the Village of Gun and the world beyond. Good will prevail and the righteous man will have his day.
But is there an even higher power? Maybe...

Episode 3
Sir Sandman sat waiting for the axe to fall. Woud Tommie and Queen Kelley continue in their mad witch hunt style against the good and righteous knight? Would they follow the whims of the neurotic parental units and their very needy offspring? Is it possible to turn back from their folly? Are they at the point of no return in their madness? Will cooler heads and morality prevail?
The noble knight is much disturbed about the lack of honesty and courage on the part of these two women - Tommie and the Queen. He expected them to do the right thing and not cave into the parents and their wicked children. And what about the Village high chief? Where has he been during this conflict? What part did the Chief Running Wolf play in settling this matter? Why didn't Running Wolf get involved in the resolution? Wasn't the Chief responsible for handling this issue before it was referred to the Queen? Did Tommie skip a step in the process? Shouldn't Running Wolf have been the leader to present the matter to the Queen? Her royal court?
Such a pitiful lack of leadership, courage, and follow up? Following procedure seems to have been abandoned and/or shamefully neglected in this rush to judgment.
Maybe the good knight needs to speak to a higher power like the ....

Episode 2
Where was I?
Oh, yes, Tommie the fool or jester in Queen Kelley's court wanted to cast her evil spell on the good knight, Sir Sandman. The self-centered children of the village of Gun were unhappy and their neurotic parental units were also mad with Sir Sandman. They wanted the kindly knight to give them as much or more grain than the other kids who were good kids and followed the Sandman's rules. These brats went crying and lying to their parental helicopter units about the rules. They claimed that they had no idea what the rules were. But 90% of the kids - the good and honest kids - heard the rules and followed them to the letter.
Sir Sandman was horrified at the lies and stupidity of the brats and their very sick parental units. Poor old Tommie had had her backbone removed at birth. Queen Kelley had had the same operation. They were unable to stand up to the angry, disturbed wishes of the helicopter parents. The caved in and went after the good Sir Sandman. This foolish, gutless acton the part of Tommie and the Queen lead the privileged 10% to organize a petition against Sandman. They filled it with lies and hurtful statements which only spoiled brats know how to invent.
What a pity? The lunatics are running the asylum. The Queen and Tommie are such losers that they don't have the heart nor soul to stand up to the 10%. Their self-interests trump their sense of right & wrong. They are willing hostages to the whims and wishes of the untalented tenth. Long live the whiners! Short live the 10%ers and their lies!

Sandman was good to his people and the defender of the Land Of Gun. But Tommie was ambitious and wanted to please the Queen.
They plotted to destroy the reputation of Sir Sandman by using some of the wicked and very spoiled brats of the Land of Gun. Their neurotic guardians would be very happy. The brats wanted more grain as they were never satisfied with what they had. Tommie promised them more grain and tried to force the noble knight to give the brats more grain.

Our sons' enemy?

Why are so many young, middle class black men in limbo? The young black middle class females seem to get it -"It" being a life of focus and purpose. Over the past several months I have spoken with moms (mostly) about their sons. Some are from intact families - mom, dad, 2.5 kids - and ALL are middle class, college educated. Why are the MALES floundering and a drift? For every black male who is focused there are at least four who are clueless.
Now the black women seem to have it together. More are graduating from college than their male counterparts. More are employed than their black brothers. Fewer of them are in the nations penal system. What's up black men? What's going down?
I know some of the answers and they disturb me. They are the SAME answers that were there 20, 30, or 40 years ago.
Should we all be disturbed? What can we do?

Does it take 28 years to get flowers?
My 20 year old son is a puzzle to me. Is he a spoil brat? If so I created him. But at what point does the child become the adult and responsible for their own decision?
My mom's 83rd b-day is in May. She is not the person that she once was. She is not as depressed. Maybe dementia is not a bad thing after all???? They forget the evil that they have done and seem happy all the time. Hard to hate a sappy, happy child? Easy to forgive and forget?

A girl's best friend?
Yes, my best friend on four legs is Baby - my rescue dog. Baby looks at me with such love and affection. When I am in the kitchen washing dishes, I can feel the love pouring from her little brown eyes. She doesn't ask for expensive Nikes, new car, gas money; Baby follows directions wonderfully. Baby is a great companion - quiet, warm, and sensitive to my moods. Her only flaw is that she hogs the popcorn when we are watching movies.

My son, my frenemy?
Being a single mom is an awful & awesome job. We are blamed by society for all wrongs and evils. It is a heavy burden to carry and never seems to get lighter. If the child has a strong male role model in their life, things "might" turn out better. But it is all a crap shoot. Luck? Magic? God's will?
Recently I launched my male child into adulthood. I am cut the apron strings, but not the purse strings - not yet. Three more years of support for college and/or training program.
